Announcing the TFB Resource Guide Launch Party & HUGE Giveaway!

Jan 13th 2012

Lately, I’ve been asked over and over to help people find various posts I’ve published mentioning everything from belly binding, to placenta encapsulation, to making baby food. After five years of blogging, networking, educating, and absorbing information, I seem to have amassed quite a heap of articles and resources that my readers would like to find a bit easier.

So, I decided that I needed a more dedicated space to aggregate and organize all this information. Plus, I wanted to have a place where it made more sense to host regular guest contributors on a wide range of topics interesting to the breeding feminists. I’m connected to so many brilliant women and men, and I have the opportunity to bring their voices and wisdom to my unique space.

So now instead of just a blog, I’ve created an entirely new Resource Guide built especially for my audience: the thinking woman (and man, and everything in between.)

The TFB Resource Guide launches on Monday at 9 am CDT and we’re having a GREAT BIG OL’ LAUNCH PARTY with BIG giveaways from DivaCup, Earth Mama Angel Baby, Dandelion Earth Friendly Goods, Cezara Panty, Snugabell, EvyMama, Motherlove Herbal Co., Natural Urban Mama, and FuzziBunz Cloth Diapers!

Lawdy, Lawdy, you’re going to swoon when you see what’s in my goodie bag. Check out just a couple of the aaaahhh-mazing gifts we’re giving away during the Launch Party!

Earth Mama Angel Baby© Birth & Baby Kit - full size

Babyette Double Layer Gauze Ring Sling from Natural Urban Mama

The DivaCup

Cezara Panty

Dandelion Canvas Tote FILLED with All Natural Baby Toys!

And this is just the tip of the iceberg. When the TFB Resource Guide launches, you’ll get to poke around and view some new articles, then you’ll have a chance to enter to win ALL of these prizes and so much more as my way of saying thanks for stopping by and checking out the new digs.

RSVP RIGHT HERE on Facebook so you get your reminder! See you then!

I LOVE this guide!! So, so much that I learned just reading through the articles that you had us search into. I don't think I would change a thing! :)

Resource Guide is looking fantastic!

I love the whole idea, and think it's pretty apparent how much time/thought/energy you put into everything! I can tell it's a work in progress, so it'd be useless to suggest adding more resources! :)

I love how organized it is! It's easy to understand and easy to navigate. As of right now, I don't have any suggestions for improvements. Thank you for doing this!

KeriJMiller 6 pts

Not sure if I have any suggestions for improvements, but it has been incredibly easy answering all the questions and looking through posts because of the resource guide. Awesome job!

I really like the resource guide, when I have a question, I can always read about it here. Thank you

I think the guide is great. My suggestion would be to just list the articles under the categories without the images and preview. Or chart them with a column for the name and then description and author maybe...

This is terrific ... I have been looking for something just like this and am thrilled to find this new resource guide! It's a terrific layout and the search feature works wonderfully!

Love the layout of the resource guide!! Makes it so easy to find the info you need!!

The resource guide looks great. I love the fact that the list of articles available are still visible when the article is clicked and read. No excess clicking of the back button to see the list!

I'm really excited for you and this guide--it looks amazing so far and can't wait to see it grow. I really think this will be a wonderful resource for parents.

Happy about party, but where are the terms and conditions for non us residents?

TheFeministBreeder 75 pts moderator

JosieY They're listed on the forms for each giveaway.

TheFeministBreeder Thank you!

It looks great! Thanks for putting the resource guide together--even with all the craziness that's been going on in your life the last several months. My only "needs work" request is that it would be nice if the words "type keyword click enter" disappeared when one clicks the search box. :-)

TheFeministBreeder 75 pts moderator

jlph76 Gotta ask starrymom if that's possible.

I think it is great! A great place for Mom's to go to for valuable information! Thank you!

Love the layout of the resource guide. It could probably use some crosslisting of articles though. For example, when I was looking for the article on Lesbians becoming parents I looked under Family planning first.

TheFeministBreeder 75 pts moderator

bookworm81 Unfortunately I can't do any cross-categorization (I really wanted to, but it's technically impossible for this setup.) Cross-categorizing causes the widget logic we're using to go all funky, and prevents the category resource links and ads from displaying correctly.

bookworm81 6 pts

TheFeministBreeder That's too bad. It's not a big deal though; I wouldn't have even said anything if the scavenger hunt hadn't asked for feedback.

TheFeministBreeder 75 pts moderator

bookworm81 No problem. I appreciate your input.

Great Guide! I'm doing the scavenger hunt right now, but I can't wait to go back and really read the articles! Looks like you covered a lot of bases!

LOVE the guide!! Been looking forward to checking it out all week long! I love how you have different categories for posts and the posts have different authors! Every topic I could think of, and some I didn't think of, seems to be covered! I am currently looking for information on circumcision and did not find any on your resource guide. I am currently pregnant with my second (a boy!) and we just recently decided not to circumcise after doing research. I would love to read more on the topic and get information to share with my family members that are not on board with the decision. Good job on the resource guide! I love it!

TheFeministBreeder 75 pts moderator

JacquelineScifres Articles on that topic are on their way.

Wow, this is an amazing guide! You really pulled out all the stops on this one. I know it's not scientific or anything, but I love reading birth stories. It'd be great to feature some families and hear how they came to choose where to birth (home, hospital, birth center), how the birth went, and what they might do differently next time or what sort of advice they'd give to other new families. Great job!

TheFeministBreeder 75 pts moderator

jen o You just reminded me to link up Birth Stories On Demand in the Resource links. Thanks! http://www.birthstoriesondemand.com/

The new TFB Resource Guide looks great. I love reading this website. Although, I'd love to see more diversity and perhaps a support group for students studying to be a doula/midwife? ;)

AnastasiaNurre 5 pts

What a fabulous combination of topics! Some of these issues I have considered, and some are newer to me. One topic I have really been researching right now but could not find on your website (yet) was newborn circumcision. Well done though!

tarajmarty 5 pts

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the resource guide! As a Doula this will be a very valuable resourse for myself and my clients. Love how easy it is to find what I am looking for, and I can tell already this will be my go-to place for information! Thank you!!!

AmandaHenderson 5 pts

The Resource Guide looks great, very helpful links to a variety of information!

The guide is incredible, easy to follow and and very informative. I would like to see a bit more diversity in the articles offered, but I imagine that will come with time. Thanks! :)
