Two days down of filming our TLC/Discovery Health gender neutral parenting special – just one more day to go. Today was a much different experience than yesterday, and I’m sure tomorrow will bring new surprises as well. While yesterday we were in the house just filming our family the entire day, today the boys got to invite friends over for a playdate, and later in the day we went to our local indoor playland and met with one of Jonas’s very bestest friends. I think filming outside the house is the strangest part of the experience. The playland was packed with other parents, and I felt like a bit of a freak show with cameras following us around. The other parents seemed to be really interested though, and plenty of them signed releases to have their kids filmed as well.
My biggest regret was not taking enough pictures today. This afternoon we did the actual close up interview with both John and I together, and I didn’t think to have anyone take a picture of us on the couch, or in the video monitor. I’m dying to see what we looked like (although from what I could see in the monitor sitting 10 feet away we looked pretty smokin’ – Hyphenated Husband has also been called “Hot Husband” by some of my friends, and he looked quite handsome on camera.)
Tomorrow will be especially scary. John has to go back to work, so I’ll be alone with the crew and the kids all day long. We’re taking a trip to the zoo as well, so I’ll have to get the kids out and wrangled all by myself. I can normally handle that pretty easily, but I have no idea how I’ll do with a camera crew following us and making us do retakes. Oy. We’re also doing our single interviews, so my MIL is going to come over and keep the kids at bay whilst I’m blabbering away to a camera. Somebody please remind me to get pictures of the interviews this time!!!
Here is the detailed schedule along with the few shots I got late in the day.
6:45 Wake up and shower
7:45 Crew arrives
9:00 Playdate is filmed
11:30 Pickup shots of family time
12:15 Lunch
1:15 We’re filmed leaving for indoor playground
1:30 Playland filming starts
2:30 Leave playland
3:00 Crew sets up for John/Gina double interview
4:30 Interviews
6:15 Kids are filmed getting ready for bed
7:00 Crew leaves
That’s all in the way of pictures today, but if you’re not already my friend on Twitter or Facebook, please friend me up and remind me to get more photographic evidence tomorrow. I’m sure once the crew leaves tomorrow night I’ll be so exhausted I won’t remember how any of this happened, and I want to capture all the moments I can.
Off to bed now for some snuggle time with HH.

How exciting! (Tiring too!) Can't wait to see it!
