I’ve decided to start doing a “Month in Review” at the end of each month so I can recap where I’ve been, what I’ve been writing about, and what people have been saying about it. So In Case You Missed It – this is what I’ve been going on about for the last 4 weeks. As a special treat, I’m including my favorite comment from each post I published this month. Fun, right?! Let’s get started…

Yikes, woman. Well, if anyone can sail through a week like this with flying colors, it’s you. Which doesn’t make it any less stressful, I know.

I loved your segment in the show & it actually led me to your blog. As a feminist and proud mommy I think what you are doing with your kids is wonderful!!~ I attempt to keep my home as gender neutral as possible and am excited to read more about other peoples experiences doing the same. Looking forward to reading your blog more in the future!

March 11th: Once a Cesarean, Rarely a Choice
Description: TFB recaps the NIH VBAC consensus statement, and shares concerns about the questions of birth choice that remains unanswered.
Favorite Comment: by Nicholas Fogelson, MD
I’m happy that the NIH took such a positive stand towards VBAC availability and women’s rights to refuse repeat cesarean delivery. I agree that the denial of a pregnant women’s ultimate right to refuse treatment as equal to a non-pregnant women is unfortunate, but not surprising given the political diversity of the NIH panel. I am hopeful that this new statement has an positive effect on VBAC availability in the next few years.

No doubt! One (of the many) reasons I really like you (and your work) is you are this fantastic example of what is happening all over our country right now. Women are starting to go, “Huh? WTF!” Which is the best news for women and birth. I think your work is amazing b/c you encourage those who maybe are having these feelings quietly to go–yeah, what she said! HELL YEAH!!!!!
It’s an uprising. Things are changing and as frustrating as it is–it’s also amazingly exciting to in the here and the now and be part of the change.

Gina — I recently was turned on to your blog and absolutely love it! I was happy to create an account and submitted “Raising an Equality Minded Male” as an entry! You have a fantastic way of putting into words the things that I’ve been thinking.…and of opening my mind to new and interesting topics! Love it!

Looks like a lot of hard work that was totally worth it! And I think it’s so entirely appropriate to pose with a phallic symbol at the end.

March 26th: L&D Staff Behaving Badly on Facebook
Description: Ever wonder what kinds of things are said about laboring women by L&D staff? Facebook shows us they’re not afraid to talk about it on a public forum.

I am so glad to be seeing this publicized more and more over the internet. Those comments are disgusting and I hope they make it back to the hospital admins!

March 30th: Is it a Blog or Is it a Business?
Description: TFB opens an honest dialogue about blogging for cash in these cash-strapped economic times. How do you? Why do you? Share your secrets!

Hi! Your best bet to make money — and I absolutely think you should, since you are a writer who takes the time to write intelligent, well-researched articles as a service to your readers — is to sell your own ads. With your kinds of stats, which are GREAT, you can ask for some nice money.
Forget Google and Amazon. And even ShareASale, Commission Junction, etc. are really not worth your while. Create a media kit and approach companies YOU would like to have advertise on your blog. It’s a lot of work, but that’s really your best bet, I believe.
